This is a memoir of a writer. It shows the love of writing and words that all writers should have. It's told in a variety of ways...not simply as a memoir. This is book 3 in a series. However, it's a great stand alone book, as I have yet to read the first two. Although, they're definitely on my to get and read list.
Many people are turned off by an overly long book. For me, I hate to say bye to characters I read about. Too bad all books aren't 5000 pages and have series of twelve or more. (I see every author on the planet cringing lol.)
As many reviewers have stated before me, Tolstoy is an art.
